Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 12 May 2025
These terms set out the basis on which Lanna Wela provides watch repair and restoration services at our workshop located at 78 Loi Kroh Road, Chang Khlan, Chiang Mai 50100, Thailand. By leaving a watch in our care or placing a service request, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms. We have written them as plainly as possible, and we welcome any questions before work begins.

2. Services Offered
We offer the following services, described here for reference:
- Movement Service & Clean — disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, lubrication, and regulation of mechanical movements
- Crystal Replacement — removal of a damaged crystal and fitting of a suitable replacement, with optional light case edge tidying
- Full Vintage Watch Restoration — comprehensive restoration of vintage and inherited timepieces, including movement rebuilding, parts replacement where necessary, and conservation of original features
The scope of any individual job will be confirmed with you in writing before work commences. We do not begin work without your agreement.
3. Estimates and Quotations
Before any work is carried out, we will provide either a fixed quotation or a written estimate for the work involved. The difference is as follows:
- A fixed quotation is a firm price for clearly defined work, which will not change unless additional work is discovered and separately agreed.
- An estimate is a good-faith approximation where the full scope cannot yet be determined. We will contact you promptly if the work is likely to exceed the estimate.
We will not carry out work that exceeds the agreed price without first informing you and obtaining your consent. If you choose not to proceed at that stage, a reasonable assessment fee may apply to cover the time already spent.
4. Leaving a Watch in Our Care
When you leave a watch with us, we will record its condition at intake, noting any existing damage, scratches, or wear. We ask that you bring any relevant documentation (service history, purchase records, certificates of authenticity) where available. You confirm that:
- You are the owner of the watch, or have the owner's permission to have it serviced.
- The information you provide about the watch (age, model, prior service) is accurate to your knowledge.
- You understand the scope of the work being requested.
We store all watches entrusted to us securely and handle them with the care appropriate to their value and nature.
5. Turnaround and Timescales
We will give you a realistic indication of turnaround time at intake. Timescales are estimates and may vary depending on:
- The complexity of the work and the condition discovered during service
- The availability of specialist parts, particularly for vintage movements
- Workshop scheduling and volume
We will keep you informed of progress and will contact you if there is a meaningful change to the expected completion date. We do not commit to completion by specific calendar deadlines unless agreed in writing.
6. Payment
Payment is due on collection of the watch, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing. We accept cash (Thai Baht) and bank transfer. Receipts are provided for all transactions.
For restoration work with a particularly high agreed cost, we may request a deposit prior to commencing. This will be discussed openly and agreed with you before any work begins.
7. Uncollected Watches
If a completed watch is not collected within 90 days of our notification that the work is finished, and we are unable to reach you through the contact details provided, we reserve the right to apply a storage charge. After 12 months of non-collection and failed contact, we may treat the item as abandoned. We will always make reasonable efforts to contact the owner before taking any such step.
8. Service Warranty
We stand behind our work. Following completion of a service, we offer a period of aftercare during which we will investigate and address without additional charge any fault that arises directly from the work carried out, subject to the following conditions:
- The watch has been worn and stored in normal conditions.
- It has not been subjected to impact, water ingress beyond its original rating, or interference by a third party.
- The issue relates directly to the work performed by us.
The duration and scope of the aftercare period will be confirmed in writing at the time of collection. Aftercare does not extend to pre-existing conditions unrelated to the service performed, or to normal wear of components.
9. Liability
We take care of every watch entrusted to us. In the unlikely event that damage occurs while a watch is in our care, our liability is limited to the reasonable cost of repair or restoration to the condition the watch was in at intake, as recorded. We are not liable for:
- Pre-existing faults or wear that was present before the work was carried out
- Damage arising from pre-existing structural weaknesses not visible or detectable at intake
- Sentimental or collectible value beyond the assessed functional value of the timepiece
- Consequential losses of any kind
If you own a watch of high monetary value, we recommend discussing appropriate insurance coverage with your insurer before leaving it with any repair service.
10. Vintage and Collectible Pieces
For vintage and collectible watches, we discuss the intended approach openly before any work begins. Where original parts, patina, or markings are significant to the value of the piece, we will not alter or replace them without your specific agreement. We approach all restoration work with conservation principles in mind and will advise you honestly when we believe a particular course of action could affect originality or collector value.
11. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our work or service, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible. We will listen carefully and work to resolve matters reasonably and promptly.
12. Website Use
The content on this website is provided for general information purposes. While we aim to keep it accurate and current, we do not warrant that all information is complete or error-free at any given time. The website is not intended as a substitute for direct discussion about your specific watch or repair needs.
Prices shown are indicative starting prices for the relevant service category. Final pricing for your particular watch will be confirmed after assessment.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts. We hope, however, that any concerns can be resolved amicably before formal steps are considered.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time you leave a watch with us is the version that applies to that service. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
